Logistics and Supply Chain

Established in 2012, the Working Group is composed of the international companies that operate in the logistic and transportation sector and receive services from this sector. The Group focused on road transport, marine transport, express air cargo transport and intermodal transport in line with the fields of activity of the companies offering services in the sector.

As a requirement of the sector’s strategic role in the value chain, the Working Group carries out activities that emphasize the importance of the sector by the positioning of Turkey as a regional hub. In this context, the Group shares its suggestions with all relevant public authorities especially in YOIKK.

In addition, the Group conveys opinions to public authorities and performs communication activities to ensure the continuity of the international investments to make Turkey a logistics hub, attract new investments to the country and ensure that Turkey gets a bigger share from the global logistics market. In this sense, the Group paid visits to the Directorate General of Customs affiliated to the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Trade, the Strategy Development Department, the Directorate General of Infrastructure Investments, the Directorate General of Highways and the Directorate General of Railway Regulation affiliated to the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure in 2019.

Active initiatives were taken by providing opinion on regulations that are prepared by public authorities. It was appreciated that the regulations were modified to ensure that international investments are secure. Moreover initiatives were taken before the Ministry of Trade regarding the facilitation of transit trade and simplification of the procedures at Turkish ports and considerable progress was made. The Working Group will continue to work closely with the Ministries of Transport and Infrastructure and the Ministry of Trade.
