YASED continues its Ankara contacts also in April…

 

New Board of Directors of YASED International Investors Association taking office in February continued its visits and contacts in Ankara in April as well. On April 2nd to 4th, YASED team headed by Ms. Ayşem Sargın has, as a part of its Ankara visits, visited Ms. Ruhsar Pekcan, Minister ofTrade, Mr. Fatih Dönmez, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Mr. Nurettin Nebati, Deputy Minister of Treasury and Finance, and Mr. Hakan Yurdakul, Member of Economic Policies Board of the Presidency. In addition, YASED’s Board of Directors held a meeting with Mr. Faruk Kaymakçı, Deputy Foreign Minister, in Istanbul in April, wherein the effects of international events and developments on business and investment atmospheres in Turkey were discussed. And with Mr. R. Tuna Turagay, Deputy Minister of Trade, a meeting was held in order to discuss the steps taken for increase of bilateral trade volume between the USA and Turkey.

In the course of contacts and meetings held under the guidance of Ms. Ayşem Sargın, Chairperson of YASED’s Board of Directors, the recent economic and political developments and expectations in our country were evaluated, and our Association’s strategies for its new term, and views, opinions and suggestions of international direct investors investing in Turkey regarding a sustainable growth in education, trade, finance and industry fields were discussed and negotiated, and YASED’s intention to continue acting in cooperation with the public administration at all times as a solution partner thereof was underlined.

Structural reforms aiming to increase investments were discussed.

 Giving a statement about their contacts in Ankara, Ms. Ayşem Sargın, Chairperson of YASED’s Board of Directors, said: “We, as YASED’s Board of Directors, have held extremely productive and effective meetings in Ankara in the recent days as part of our visits. In the meetings, we discussed the steps required to be taken so as to attract more international direct investments into Turkey. For positioning of our country as a regional center, we presented our suggestions for amplification of added value provided by multinational corporations via their R&D investments in Turkey.”

Significance of a Correct Localization Model was emphasized…

 Reminding that in the visit to Ms. Ruhsar Pekcan, Minister of Trade, they have discussed steps that might be taken to increase the exports of our country and on effects of international events and developments on our business world, Ms. Sargın added: “In the course of our contacts, we gave information about our works on steps required to be taken to attract more international direct investments into our country. We also expressed our views on implementation of a correct localization model which will be helpful for upgrading of R&D competencies of Turkey in global competition and for repositioning of our country as an added value product and service supplier therein.”

Energy supply security and energy sector investments were discussed…

 In their visit to the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources during Ankara visits, YASED Board discussed with the Minister, Mr. Fatih Dönmez, the energy supply security and energy strategy of Turkey for the next period, as well as the issues of production and efficiency in the energy sector.

During YASED’s visit to Mr. Nureddin Nebati, Deputy Minister of Treasury and Finance, the recent economic developments were discussed, and it was stated that the number-one-priority issue was to focus on economic problems and to implement the New Economic Program during the next non-election period of 4.5 years.

In the negotiations held with Mr. Hakan Yurdakul, Member of Economic Policies Board of the Presidency, the significance of localization applications which are strictly compliant with international norms and do by no means impair the market forces has been stressed and underlined as a means of increasing the international direct investments.

In addition, YASED’s Board of Directors has held a meeting with Mr. Faruk Kaymakçı, Deputy Foreign Minister, in Istanbul in April, wherein the effects of international events and developments on business and investment atmospheres in Turkey have been discussed.

Ways of increasing exports to the USA were dealt with…

And with Mr. R. Tuna Turagay, Deputy Minister of Trade, YASED held a meeting with participation of its member companies in Ankara in April. In that meeting, steps required to be taken for increase of bilateral trade volume between the USA and Turkey and for achievement of trade volume goal of 75 billion dollars were discussed.
